Problems an executor may run into without our help

  1. An empty house with no one living in it for 30 days or more may no longer have valid home insurance. An executor must act on this timeline quickly, and the estate will likely incur additional costs to carry the house including specialty insurance, ongoing maintenance costs, etc.
  2. The longer it takes to clear an Estate Home of its contents, the longer it will take to sell it (or rent it) and get the net cash of this liquidation into the Estate funds.
  3. Until the Estate Home is sold, mortgage costs, interest and property taxes will continue to reduce the available Estate cash on hand, if any. Time is not your friend.
  4. Utilizing family and acquaintances to clear the home of its contents will require your complete ongoing onsite supervision anytime and every time you provide access to the Estate Home to others. This does not apply if you contract our Company to clear the home on behalf of the Estate. It also often causes stress and interfamily issues if agreement cannot be reached as to who gets what. Lastly, this usually takes a noticeable longer time to complete an Estate Home clearing than if you hired a professional to do the same.
