Downsizing

At Downsizers we understand that at a certain point in all of our lives that we will probably all have to downsize eventually. maybe even multiple times.

We meet with our clients and discuss their specific needs and wants.

Are they moving?

Is there an imminent home sale or new renters coming in?

Has there been a death or a divorce.

The factors of why a client wants to downsize will greatly affect how we deal with the items being downsized.

Our goal is that our clients will feel valued and heard.

We will proceed in an effective and efficient way once everything has been agreed upon and understood.

The following are steps that we take:

1. Assess the clients needs timelines and direction of where things are going to be going as well as all the things that need to be downsized sold etc.

2. We create a list of what will be kept sold, recycled gifted re-purposed and finally disposed of.

As professionals we aim to assist you and take as much stress and confusion away from our clients as possible.

We want you to relax and destress and we will take care of the rest.

Estate Home Clearing

We are experienced and efficient at clearing out Estate Homes of all its contents, furniture, and possessions, all in a timely manner.

It’s not an easy task. There is a lot of work in clearing a home of its furniture and contents, and this work will not be reimbursed to the Executor or his team …and why work laboriously for weeks or months for free?

There may be emotions tied to many of the possessions in the home, and this slows down and seriously complicates the sorting phase prior to clearing all contents from the home, especially if the Executor involves other family members to help them.

We progress through the sorting of possessions and furniture from a practical and logical viewpoint … what can be sold effectively, what can be good-willed or recycled, and finally what must simply be cleared out.

Then we manage the sale of any significant valuable items for the Executor, and follow through with conducting the process of clearing out all the remaining contents and possessions.

The now empty home can either be sold as is, or the Executor may decide to “stage” the home with some furniture and décor, as well as touch up painting and such, to provide a house that is more easily sold.

Staging and Interior Design

Staging becomes an essential element when the real estate market becomes increasingly competitive. When there are a lot of homes on the market sometimes this may be the thing that will set homes apart .The goal of staging is to make a home appealing to the highest number of potential buyers, thereby selling a property more swiftly and for more money. Staging techniques focus on improving a property’s appeal by insuring it is a welcoming, attractive product that any buyer can see himself/herself living in and, thus, desire to purchase.

You may want new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, all new countertops, window treatments, and new flooring, etc. We can assist with all of this. Or it could be something as simple as a change of lines, texture, and colours.
