Downsizing in general

For some families and for Seniors, downsizing is something that eventually happens to most of us. We move up in size in our homes for part of our life, increasing our inventory of possessions and furniture and treasures over a period of our lives.

Then at some point, our lives redirect, and it is time to downsize. Sometimes it is due to less family living in the house, sometimes it is due to a personal tragedy, sometimes it is budget based, and sometimes our age catches up with us and we no longer wish to or are able to maintain a larger home.

By definition, “Downsizing” is going into a smaller home space, often those moves are significant where the new space has square footage reduction and room count of one half or two thirds smaller.

Given such a change, it can be a tough burden and decision process to cull the treasures and possessions of life collected in order to “fit” comfortably and workably and even safely into the new smaller home. It can get emotionally charged, and it can get hard to achieve agreement between spouses and families. Everybody has treasures and collections and preferred furnishings, yet the new space will not reasonably permit everything to move.

That is where Downsizers comes in. We are Interior Designers and Decorators who are trained and experienced at decluttering, reorganizing, general Interior Design, and we have a knack for how to transform a house and its rooms into a desired and comfy home that has style, warmth, practical layout, and good appealing design.
